Cultural Risk Habits

You’re spot on—different countries and cultures definitely seem to have totally different comfort levels with risk. Some treat gambling and investing like entertainment, while others are much more conservative. I found this great article https://boroktimes.com/money-and-luck-the-psychology-of-risk-taking-in-different-cultures/ called Money and Luck: The Psychology of Risk-Taking in Different Cultures that dives into how these differences form. It explains how deeply-rooted beliefs around luck and fate play into our decisions. For example, some cultures believe you can read and even influence luck, while others see it as something best avoided altogether. It’s a fascinating read, especially if you’re into cross-cultural psychology. It really helped me make sense of why attitudes toward money and chance can vary so widely.

Totally agree with the idea that we inherit our mindset from the culture around us. I used to think I was just naturally risk-averse, but maybe there’s more to it. Curious to learn more about how this works.
